Children's programme 7: Wash day with the Spengler family
To set the mood, the Spengler family is introduced and the procedure of a washing day 100 years ago is described. Then aprons are tied on and the work begins. The children do all the work that used to be part of the big wash with old equipment: Washing with a scratch board and brush, rinsing, wringing, hanging, laying and rolling. Following this, the Spengler House is explored in a guided tour.
Age group: primary school, on request also for older pupils
Duration: approx. 2 hours (from mid-May to mid-September, activity takes place partly in the courtyard, weather permitting!)
Costs: Admission for pupils and teachers in class 1,- Euro, guided tour in addition to admission 1,- per person and 0,50 Euro material per child
