Expedition 3 - Old Mining

For all those who want to experience, see and hear more about the old mining industry in Mansfeld than is possible in the usual guided tour, we recommend our old mining tour. The cable tour in the shaft ends already at a depth of 163 m at the filling point of the Segen-Gottes-Stollen and leads through mine workings from the time around 1880. Many water troughs and dripstones make the route particularly attractive. The "Green Vault" with its lush colourful sintering is the crowning glory of the tour. At the end, we invite you to a traditional half-shift underground. The expedition ends with a rustic feast, including a fat sandwich, coffee and schnapps.
Mine helmet and light will be provided. Please bring your own rubber boots!
