Alter Markt
On the road from Nordhausen to Halle, not far from the Old Castle and south of the Ulrich Church cemetery, the Old Market was established as a street market around the 11th century.
Market law was important for every town at that time, and it was always under the protection of the sovereign. Market lords were the respective landlords of Sangerhausen. Later, the streets Rittergasse, Tryllerei and Ulrichstraße were built, so that the area of the Old Market was reduced.
