The Frankfurt artist Chris Kircher welds wonderfully lively-looking bird sculptures out of old metal. To do this, she roams scrap yards and flea markets, collects old tools or completely bent steel parts and welds them into animals in her workshop, in which you don't even notice the original parts at first. The result is idiosyncratic and original characters that make you smile.
